![]() He was always the character that I loved. I remember, even after all these years, Tanis (the hero), Cameron (the warrior), Tasslehoff (kender, plucky, but good for comic relief), Flint (dour dwarf), Sturm (stern, unyielding knight), Kitiara (Kit!).but most of all, I remember reading about Raistlin with his ruined health, his bitterness, his sarcasm, his cruelty to his brother, and his hourglass eyes, and being mostly in love with him. I have not read them in recent years, and I have to confess that I am loathe to do so, because you can never go back, but they deserve 5 stars just for the warm memories I have of them, and how they made me feel as I read them. I have read, and reread, these books many, many times, for comfort, for memory's sake, for any number of reasons. No mean feat given I grew up in a small town in Malaysia! I have to give these five stars because my love of fantasy stems from my stumbling onto these, and reading them, as a teenager. Our newest project is creating the RPG for the wonderful TV series, Firefly. I am the owner of the company, Margaret Weis Productions, publisher of RPGs. My hobby is flyball racing with my dogs, Dixie, a border collie, and two crackhead Shelties, Joey the Thug and Clancy the Hooligan. The second book is Storm Riders, coming out from Tor in July 2013. I am currently working on the third book in the Dragon Brigade series, the Seventh Sigil. I graduated from the University of Missouri–Columbia and now live in Wisconsin with dogs, Max, Dixie, Joey the Thug and Clancy the Hooligan. I also wrote two paranormal romance novels, Fallen Angel and Warrior Angel, with my daughter, Elizabeth Baldwin. These include: Darksword, Rose of the Prophet, Star of the Guardians, DeathGate, Dragonvarld, Sovereign Stone, Dragonships, and the Dragon Brigade. I've written numerous novels and short stories set in the world of Krynn, as well as series in other, original worlds. (I don't really want or have the space for so many extra physical copies cluttering my house).Fantasy novelist who, along with Tracy Hickman, was one of the original creators of the Dragonlance game world. I'm on Time of the Twins now and looking ahead it appears none of the Tales books ("The Magic of Krynn", "Kender, Gully Dwarves and Gnomes", etc) are available on Kindle, so I thought listening to certain books that are unavailable for Kindle or that are simply more on the periphery of the core may be a nice option for my driving commute. Long story short, after 30 years I re-read Chronicles and fell in love with some of the characters again (Tas!). The FAQ states the easiest way to tell is to search "included with your membership", but that's useless if you don't have a membership yet. Sorry to necro this thread, but it's relevant to my question and couldn't find anything more recent.Īre all (or any) of the Dragonlance books on Audible in "premium plus" version or do I just need the basic "plus" subscription? With so many books to get through, I would prefer just having the basic subscription as I don't anticipate listening to books outside of DL for quite awhile. I sure wish Dragonlance would get a proper new version of the classics read by someone like a Stephen Pacey or Marc Thompson. They’re enjoyable and more listenable even if they don’t have the modern production. I’d try and stick with the orignal audiotapes/cd versions of the audiobooks over most audible new versions if possible. It’s hard to find them, and the quality is usually not perfect. ![]() Peter Johnson and John Polk on the old versions of chronicles/legends before the newer audible ones in every instance is superior. Much better than lost chronicles garbage that makes them unlistenable. ![]() The new Dragonlance Destinies narrator is solid. I can’t even listen to them because of it. ![]() The Tas speaking like a dullard is like nails on a chalkboard. They try and do voices and it’s unlistenable. Unfortunately the lost chronicles narrator is horrible. The original narrator (narrators?) is solid on Chronicles and Legends. The newer audible versions of chronicles are weak. There’s no audiobook for Second Generation I’ve seen. ![]()
